The Demise and Fall of a gull

Last night one of the baby herring gulls that have been growing steadily all summer, fell off of our roof. Now these may be babies but they are BIG! So on some fairly knowledgeable advice I put on gardening gloves, grabbed a large bucket and set about a rescue (it was either that or the foxes would get him I reasoned) Much pecking and squawking later (ungrateful creature!) he was back on a low roof......I gave him a dish of water which he drank from (all day in the hot sun with no food or drink couldn't have been pleasant) and soon his parents returned to regurgitate tourist sandwiches for his tea - so all was going well. At 10 when I retired to bed all seemed fine.....This morning....No gull. My five year old daughter sagely said "Well either he flew away or the fox ate him" we suspect it was the latter.

London

Haven't blogged for a while - still in shock over the London bombings - I don't live there but used to work there, and caught the tube every day - I was always nervous even then....what can I say - an appalling and ultimatly pontless crime against the people of the Uk - after all now we are more determined and angry....ho hum, I'm off to London zoo later this month - nervous but determined....

Big Brother

Well I'll be missing it tonight - my other half has decided to control the remote, and watch the other channel. But hey it's the same every night - car crash TV but we love it. Mmm so is she or isn't she ? well lets face it it's too soon to know one way or the other, but boy oh boy, can she play the game. Hopefully Science will be leaving soon, can't stand another rant about life in the ghetto or what he will or won't do......Maxwell however still is my most hated character, it's just that he's mildly less irritating than Science........Derek to win - although of course I change my mind daily.

Random Thought

I was driving to work today, doing 70, when I was overtaken by a crappy old jeep and I thought

" You know when you leave the lights on and get out of your car you get that annoying 'weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' sound? Well why don't they make cars that make a similar annoying sound when you go over 70? Then at the very least you couldn't say "I didn't know how fast I was going officer"

- so there you go random thoughts to save the planet. More on my big brother thoughts later......

Stream of consciousness

well the blurb continues, live8 still has me ranting and annoyingly I missed big brother last night. Any one have any thoughts on Eugene? What or who is he? where did they get him? Are there really people alive that are that nerdy - good grief I bet he has a Blog ;-)
